The Top Black Booties
There aren't many staple fashion pieces that you can just throw on with almost any outfit and look incredible. When it comes to wardrobe staples, we often think about a solid pair of jeans, a little black dress, and a tailored blazer. One of my favorite year-round staples is the black bootie. These can be worn with sundresses, jeans, leggings, and everything in between. I decided to revamp my closet and started with searching for the perfect pair of black booties. I tried the top 20 available to bring you the best 5 worthy of your hard-earned money.
Soda Chance Women’s Closed Toe Multi Strap Ankle Bootie
Cute, low-heel boots with trendy side cutouts
If you want a black bootie that complements any outfit, check out my favorite from Soda. It boasts a comfortable 1.5″ chunky heel to give you a little lift without being a back-breaker.
These boots aren’t slippery, and you can feel good about wearing them because they’re made from vegan leather. These boots are effortless to put on and take off and can be styled with almost anything. I felt like these were true to size.
Pros:
- Available in 20+ colors
- Cute strappy cutout
- Textured outsole prevents slipping
- Made of vegan faux leather
- Zipper closure is easy to shut
- Soft lining
Cons:
- Low-cut style may be uncomfortable if you have thicker ankles
Dr. Scholl’s Shoes Women’s Rate Booties
These Dr. Scholl's-backed booties are relaxed and have unique details like side cutouts and hexagon perforations
Dr. Scholl’s typically delivers on comfortable shoes, and these booties are no different. Their insoles are squishier than a stuffed animal, and I can totally imagine wearing these all day.
There’s a subtle geometric hexagon pattern on these boots to add an interesting texture, and the side cutouts make them easy to get on. I really liked how plush these are without feeling heavy on your feet.
Pros:
- The leather-wrapped stacked heel is comfortable
- A memory foam insole is easy on your legs
- Back tabs make these easy to pull on and off
- Non-skid sole
- Geometric perforated detailing
- Lightweight shoe
Cons:
- Taller socks will show through the deep cuts in the sides
- May not be suitable for very wide feet
EYUSHIJIA Women’s Short Rain Waterproof Ankle Chelsea Booties
Booties that prove rainy days don't have to be full of drab outfits
If you live in a rainy or snowy place, you need these boots. They don’t cost much and will prevent you from slipping around town. It’s hard to find rain booties that aren’t horrendously ugly and heavy, but these manage to be lightweight and stylish while still actually protecting your feet against rain.
I was impressed by how luxurious these felt given the price tag, and I tested them out during a full rainy day of running errands – a task that’s usually not luxurious in the slightest. My toes had plenty of wiggle room without gapping to rub against my ankle. The heel is 1.7″ to give you a small lift without being too extreme.
Pros:
- Inexpensive
- Waterproof
- Comes in matte and gloss black or dark blue
- Easy to get on and off
- Lightweight
- Anti-slip rubber sole
- Molded insole
Cons:
- When I opened the box, there was a slight chemical smell which went away in a few hours
REFRESH CLUB-01 Women’s Slip-On Chunky Heel Ankle Bootie
Take these booties to your next fashion shoot, dinner date, or club night
If you’re looking for a black bootie that you can wear to dinner then to the club, this is it. I had trouble deciding on a color because there are several good options like glossy black, black/wine, and black suede. These have a chunky heel that’s about 3 inches tall and zip up on the side to be easy to put on.
These booties feel like they’re good quality, and because of the rubber sole they are pretty easy to walk in – even for people like me who look like a baby giraffe in heels. I like how versatile these are, not being so high or dramatic that you couldn’t wear them to work. If you’re loving the 90s vibes these booties are putting off, consider picking up a pair.
Pros:
- Available in different colors and materials
- Versatile style – can be dressed up or down
- Sexy heel height without being insanely tall
- The round toe style doesn’t crowd toes
Cons:
- Out of the box they smelled like chemicals, which went away within a day
- Arch support could be better
